Assessment of forest ecosystem services in China: A methodology
نویسندگان
چکیده
The methods of forest ecosystem services assessment vary between countries of the world. According to China’s characteristics and forestry situation, a systematic methodology of forest ecological benefits assessment was put forward by people who are concerned and devoted themselves into forest research in China. Indicator system was established according to forest multi-functionality, and assessment units were divided by different factors such as geography, forest types and age groups. Ultimately, there were 7020 relative homogenising units were used as accounting for calculating forest ecosystem services. Two kinds of assess method i.e. quantity of quality and value were adopted in the view of social and economic parameters. The methodology presented here should be helpful to scientists who want to know the real benefits offered by forest.

Monitoring and assessment of land use/land cover changes in Kashkan basin using futures studies approach in managing ecosystem services
Land use/cover change is one of the main factors in environmental changes. The changes directly affect the value of ecosystem services. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of land use/land cover change in the Kashkan area on its ecosystem services. This research was carried out in three stages, including the analysis of land cover changes, prediction of changes, and carbon st...
متن کاملValue Assessment of Ecosystem Services in Nature Reserves in Ningxia, China: A Response to Ecological Restoration
Changes in land use can cause significant changes in the ecosystem structure and process variation of ecosystem services. This study presents a detailed spatial, quantitative assessment of the variation in the value of ecosystem services based on land use change in national nature reserves of the Ningxia autonomous region in China. We used areas of land use types calculated from the remote sens...
متن کاملEcological assessment of Mel e Gonzeh mangrove forest by AZTI's Marine Biotic Index
AMBI is an ecological marine ecosystem indicator, which provides a more intelligent assessment of ecosystems of sensitivity and resilience, and ecological role, compared to famous diversity and dominance. This study assesses ecosystem health status from the AMBI's perspective by examining the distribution and biodiversity of macrobenthoses from mangrove of Mel-e-Gonzeh in the Bushehr province. ...
متن کاملQuantification of the impact of land-use changes on ecosystem services: a case study in Pingbian County, China.
Pingbian Miao Autonomous County is one of the poorest rural areas in China. Land-use changes, mainly driven by agricultural expansion and deforestation, may significantly impact ecosystem services and functions, but such effects are difficult to quantify. In the present study, Landsat image data were combined with the published coefficients about the world and China ecosystem to quantify land-u...
متن کاملAssessing Urban Forest Structure, Ecosystem Services, and Economic Benefits on Vacant Land
An urban forest assessment is essential for developing a baseline from which to measure changes and trends. The most precise way to assess urban forests is to measure and record every tree on a site, but although this may work well for relatively small populations (e.g., street trees, small parks), it is prohibitively expensive for large tree populations. Thus, random sampling offers a cost-eff...
